Destination Guide

Egypt

The Pyramids of Giza. The Grand Egyptian Museum. The Valley of the Kings. The medieval bazaars of Islamic Cairo. One of the world's oldest urban quarters in Historic Old Cairo. Egypt is layered in three civilizations at once — ancient, medieval, and modern — and every one of them is extraordinary.

The Program

Egypt combines two worlds in one trip: the layered history of Cairo (Historic Old Quarter, Islamic bazaars, Grand Egyptian Museum) with the ancient world wonders of Giza and Luxor. Cairo and Luxor require either an internal flight or overnight train — they cannot be combined as a day trip, and the full experience of both demands a dedicated day each. The complete operational day-by-day is finalized on request per group.

Egypt — 9–10 Days, Cairo + Giza + Luxor

Ancient civilizations · World Wonders · Valley of the Kings
7 nights Cultural / Heritage Cairo + Luxor bases
Historic Old Cairo
One of the world's oldest continuously inhabited urban quarters · The Hanging Church (built over a Roman fortress gatehouse, 4th century) · Coptic Museum — the finest collection of early Christian-era art and artifacts · St. Simon's Monastery carved into the Mokattam cliffs · Steps from the medieval bazaars of Islamic Cairo and Khan el-Khalili
Giza Plateau
The Great Pyramid of Khufu (2560 BC — the only surviving wonder of the ancient world) · Pyramid of Khafre · Pyramid of Menkaure · The Great Sphinx · The Valley Temple of Khafre · Optional: interior chamber access with advance reservation
Grand Egyptian Museum
The world's largest archaeological museum (opened 2023), housing over 100,000 artifacts — including the full Tutankhamun collection, previously split between storage and the Cairo Museum. The Grand Gallery's 87-meter-long stairway is flanked by colossal royal statues.
Luxor — Valley of the Kings
The Valley of the Kings (burial site of pharaohs of the New Kingdom, 1550–1070 BC — 65 tombs, including Tutankhamun's) · Karnak Temple complex (the largest religious complex ever built, begun in 2000 BC and expanded for 1,300 years) · Temple of Luxor · Optional: hot air balloon over the Valley at sunrise

Day 8
Luxor → Cairo → USA
Internal flight Cairo · Connection home, OR optional overnight in Cairo for Sinai add-on
Cairo and Luxor require separate bases. They are 700 km apart. The internal flight takes 1 hour; the overnight train takes ~10 hours. Both are included as options in proposal — we recommend the flight for most groups. Trying to cover both cities from Cairo as day trips is not operationally feasible.

Optional Add-Ons

Egypt pairs naturally with extensions that can be added to the base program depending on your group's interests and travel window. All add-ons are priced separately and confirmed at proposal stage.

Sinai + St. Catherine's Monastery
2-day add-on. Mount Sinai (where Moses received the Ten Commandments) + St. Catherine's Monastery (UNESCO — the oldest continuously inhabited Christian monastery in the world, founded 6th century). As conditions permit.
Nile Cruise (Luxor → Aswan)
3–4 day cruise extension. Edfu Temple, Kom Ombo, Aswan High Dam, Philae Temple, Nubian village. Ideal for groups who want the iconic Nile experience. Adds 3–4 nights.
Alexandria Extension
1-day extension from Cairo (3 hours by road). Bibliotheca Alexandrina, Pompey's Pillar, Catacombs of Kom el Shoqafa (2nd century AD), Montazah Palace gardens. Good for history-focused and academic groups.

Why Flock for Egypt

Egypt is one of the most mishandled destinations in group travel — poor logistics, wrong guides, wrong emphasis. We do it right.
Full
Both civilizations, not one
Most Egypt tours do either the ancient sites (pyramids, Luxor) or a Cairo city day — rarely both at depth. We structure the itinerary so Historic Old Cairo, Islamic Cairo, Giza, and Luxor each get proper time. Nothing is a 90-minute rush stop.
2023
Grand Egyptian Museum experience
The Grand Egyptian Museum (opened 2023) finally brings the full Tutankhamun collection together in one building. We include a visit with skip-the-line access and a guide who can explain what you're seeing — not just what it looks like.
Sinai
Add-on when conditions allow
Mount Sinai and St. Catherine's Monastery are among the most remote and historically significant sites in the region. Access depends on conditions, but when available, we can extend the program to include it — an experience very few group operators offer.
